I’m not sure if this tourist destination fits more in the category of the “World’s Largest Ball of Twine” or the Mall of America.
Both are almost ‘must see’ tourist locations but aren’t quite theme parks.
Rock City, a beloved roadside attraction perched atop Lookout Mountain in Georgia (just outside of Chattanooga, Tennessee), boasts a history that blends natural wonder with human vision and a touch of fairytale charm.
If you are in the Chattanooga area or plan to visit there, Rock City is an easy way to get out and not only take a drive through the beautiful neighborhoods of Lookout Mountain, but explore an other wordly “city” built of rocks.
To call them large boulders with some decorations around them would not be doing it justice as it feels more like a giant playground for adults.

I felt like a kid walking around Rock Ciy Gardens (the official name) as we walked over stone bridges, through tunnels, underneath 1000 ton balancing rocks, and spotted gnomes all throughout.
I couldn’t wipe the smile off my face if I tried. 😁
